Hi, I'm Chaoscanine

I makethings move.

I bring my sonas into MMD, Blender, and Unity, then keep fixing the little problems until the motion fits them.

One I keep
replaying.

I keep coming back to this one. The black background puts all the attention on the character, and the attitude still works.

03 / How these get made

My questionable
production pipeline.

  1. 01
    Pick the avatar

Usually I use the sona who represents me. The others are still parts of me, but they have their own personalities and lives.

  2. 02
    Borrow some movement

I look for an MMD motion or another animation online. Some are traced. Others come from machine learning tools that turn video into FBX animation.

  3. 03
    Fix what breaks

Motion made for a human rig does strange things to an anthro avatar. I use MMD or Unity to fix clipping, bad feet, stiff hands, and anything else that looks wrong.

  4. 04
    Render it. Spot a problem.

Then I render it, see something I missed, fix it, and render it again. This continues until I can watch it without staring at the mistake.

why I bother with all this →

I want my sonas to feel alive and have a purpose.

One is basically me. The others started as pieces of me, but over time they became their own characters with their own lives.
